Phil. Star | Party with 2NE1 at the Big Dome

Updated May 22, 2011 12:00 AM

June 4 is a day to mark on the calendars of KPop fans for 2NE1 will rock Araneta Coliseum with its first major international concert titled The Party. Packed with their signature songs that climbed the charts, Bom, CL, Dara and Minzy are set to entertain their Pinoy fans.

On May 17, 2009, the New Evolution of 21st Century or popularly known as 2NE1, made its way effortlessly into the Korean Pop music industry with the self-titled debut album. 2NE1 was initially introduced to the public in March of 2009 via Lollipop commercial, an endorsement for a phone company, which the idol group did alongside fellow YG-labeled band, Big Bang. After Lollipop came Fire and I Don’t Care singles from their debut album which gave the group more than 15 awards.

In September of 2010, 2NE1 made a comeback in South Korea where it presented its first full-length album titled To Anyone. The rankings of the studio album in different album charts proved that the group’s status in the music industry has been elevated. For one, it landed first on the Gaon Chart (considered as South Korea’s Billboard Charts) during its debut, and it claimed the No. 7 spot in the US Billboard World Albums Charts a month after it was released.

As for 2NE1’s popularity in the Philippines, leave your wonders to the air and realize that Sandara Park is the magnet who has been capturing a lot of Filipinos into KPop. Who could ever forget the goofy Korean girl who proclaims herself as the Pambansang Krung-Krung ng Pilipinas?

The Party: 2NE1 Live in Manila is presented by Smart, Pulp Live World Productions, Araneta Center, Araneta Coliseum, Star World, TVN, SeoulFM, 96.3 Easy Rock, Energy FM, Jack TV, ETC, 2ndavenue, The Philippine Star, MYX and Intercontinental Hotel Makati.

Tickets are available at all Ticketnet outlets.
